Household Manual [Aug. 24th, 2007|07:50 am]
Service Headquarters

[mood |curious]

I am preparing to put together a Household Manual for Casa de Smith. Basically, it will include everything about the new home- appliances with warranty information, phone numbers, paint colors used and brands etc. It will also include a maintenance and cleaning schedule. If anyone has examples of what they've used that they can show me, I would greatly appreciate it.

We have one of those, highly useful!! I didn't use anything special, just a big and pretty binder.

I use an excel spreadsheet but my household manual is more about the people in it than the house itself. I love excel in general but having the Household handbook electronically makes it alot easier (and likely) for me to update it.

The tabed sheets include, Budget, Grocery & Dinner List (monthly, Cleaning List, Christmas List, Gift Ideas, Birthday & Anniversary List, Address, Phone numbers, Wine Lists, book lists and things to do before I die.

When we bought our new home in May the previous owners left us a fab binder manual with all that info. it was divided by specific rooms and for each room there was a pocket for appliance warranties, receipts, a page with paint chips and mix colors, floor treatments and care, window sizes, room dimensions, circuit breaker numbers, etc. She was OCD and I love that she was!

Now if only she had left the detailed garden plat with 4 season photos like she promised. I'm lost in identifying all the various plants she had.

OMG I totally admire you! I just have a big crazy drawer and several haphazard boxes!
